A Country Style Wedding Reception

Howdy friends!

How about some reception pics from Julia and Alex's wedding day?

I still don't have time to write much, but I at least wanted to upload some of the beauty...

The Cake
The happy couple, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Corbett

First Dance
Father and Daughter
(That's me in the black dress with the video camera)
The guest register -- reflecting their love for the mountains of  North Carolina

Cheerwine (cherry soda) imported from North Carolina
The Lemonade Bar
Made with real raspberries!
Kettle Corn from the Farmer's Market where Alex and Julia love to hang out

Meat from Four Rivers barbecue, sides by two of the ladies of Metro Life (coleslaw not shown)

The pie buffet
Reception on the patio in front of the church
- this was the first time anyone had one out there,
but I'm guessing it's not the last!
They also turned the drive lane into a dance floor for country music,
but I don't have a picture of that right now.

Old family friends from NHE home school group

Lanterns and leaves
Beautiful sunset to cap it off!

Send them off with a sparkle!
The perfect ending to a country style wedding reception!

A big thank you to my friend Donna Gotschall for many of these pictures, as well as to Bethany Walti for the last one!

  2. What a creative idea to have the reception "outside" the church...taking advantage of the beauty of the great outdoors, easier clean up {assuming outside would be less concerning with spills, etc.} and elements of lanterns that would otherwise not be able to be utilized! Lovely pictures and looking forward to more...

    Blessings ~

  3. Jarnette, they were also able to seat about twice As many people than in the usual room. I'm glad the weather was so nice. We had extremely stormy weather the previous weekend!
