Apple Picking, Fritters, and Goofy Gourds at Larriland Farm

Hey folks!

I'm on day 2 of my visit to see family in Maryland with my oldest daughter and my two grandsons!  You can see my other photos here:

Today we all went to Larriland Farm for apple picking, but we had a whole lot more fun than that!  Join me in a little photographic tour.

Dana and John (who is my big bro)

We bought over 50 pounds of apples.

They did have real animals to pet, too.

My sister Barb's family,
minus a college age daughter,
and plus my oldest grandson
and my mother

Lots of yummy food to buy!

Apple fritters!
I could have eaten the whole tray by myself!

Barbecue Sundaes:
Pulled pork, coleslaw and a fried pickle on top!
 (Not my thing!)

Pulled chicken was just right for me...

My sister Barb with my grandson

A little autumn color

Everything you need
for apple canning

A cupboard of jellies

Dried corn

The gourds must be crazy!

Up he goes!

Pushing pumpkin (a little too big!)

A portable pumpkin more his size

A gourd that's more like a lasso
(thanks to my nephew Doug)

My niece Amy

A green duck?

Yes, it's a gourd too!
I love the variety!

S is for Snake Gourd

Beautiful pumpkin -- or is it a gourd?

So patient with all the pictures!

Select?  Choose?  Pick!

At home (away from home)
all tuckered out,
he reminds me of the skeleton
on the red barn.
I'm glad he just woke up!
Thanks for joining my tour!

The entire weekend in pictures:

  2. Great fun! The apple fritters look divine--just the kind of thing I would be tempted to eat up completely on my own, too!
