Winter Park Paint Out 2016 at Albin Polasek Museum

My youngest daughter and I love to go to art and history museums for home school field trips. Yesterday we visited the Maitland Art Center. Today, we went to the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens. We've been there before, and enjoyed learning of this Czech-American artist and educator. This week is the Winter Park Paint Out event, with plein air painters working on pieces outside. Admission to the museum is also free this week, but the residence museum and chapel are closed during the event. As soon as each art piece is completed, it goes on display in one of the galleries. All pieces are for sale, and part of the proceeds benefits the museum.

Here are some of my favorites among the fresh plein air paintings.

"The Garden Trellis" by Stacy Barter

"In the Garden" by Kathleen Denis

"Waiting for a Ride" by Kathleen Denis
